We’re excited to highlight one of the fantastic Property Managers this Women’s History Month who keeps the business running smoothly. Meet Karen Booker, Property Manager at Waters Tower Apartments in Baltimore, MD.

From resident relations to maintenance and everything in between, our property managers go above and beyond to create a welcoming and enjoyable living experience for our residents. Karen owes her success to her “strong-willed” mother who mentored her to be caring and extroverted. Read more about the advice Karen offers anyone entering the Property Management field today.

What advice do you have for women entering the property management/field?

My advice would be to have patience. It takes an extraordinary person to deal with all types of people.

You have to love helping people and have a passion for helping find an excellent place for them to live.

Who mentored you to get you to where you are in your career or life?

My mother was the one who mentored me to be a person who is caring and extroverted. She was very strong-willed.

Also, my grandmother lived at Johnston Square Apartments, a Preservation Management, Inc.-owned company. I would visit her often, which drove me to want to work in this field.
